EnBW awards service contract for a period of 5 years 

Emden, March 2019 | The port agent / terminal operator Ems Ports Agency & Stevedoring Beteiligungs GmbH & Co. KG (epas) has won the EnBW tender for port services of the Hohe See & Albatros offshore wind farms. The project is expected to start on the 1st of September this year with a term of 5 years. 

The wind farms EnBW Hohe See and Albatros are together the largest offshore wind farm project in Germany, which is currently being built. 95 kilometers north of Borkum and about 95 kilometers west of Helgoland lies EnBW Hohe See. Albatros is being built in the immediate vicinity.

The company epas, specialist u. a. for offshore logistics, has been awarded the contract for the entire handling of port logistics during the operating phase of the named offshore wind farms following a tendering procedure. Project start is expected to be September 1 of this year, with a term of 5 years plus two additional annual options.

Zu den Hauptaufgaben gehören u. a. das Be- und Entladen von sogenannten SOV (Service Operation Vessel) mit direktem Kaiumschlag und der Umfuhr bis ins Lager sowie zurück, Container-, Personen-, und Materialtransporte, aber auch die Zollabwicklung durch die eigene Zollabteilung, als Kernkompetenzen von epas.

The loading and unloading of so-called SOV (Service Operation Vessel) with direct quay impact and the transfer to the warehouse and back, container, passenger and material transports, but also the customs clearance by the own customs department, as core competences of epas. Decisive for awarding to epas are the offshore sector-wide and extensive certification required by epas, including ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001, as well as AEO certification (Authorized Economic Operator).

Two Liebherr cranes that can be used flexibly, which can load packages weighing up to 240 tons in a tandem hoist, as well as excellent storage options round off the service package and thus ensure reliable and productive operation of the entire port logistics.
